Tropical rainforests cover 6% of the Earth’s land area, yet are estimated to contain over 50% of all animal and plant species. Rainforests contribute to atmospheric oxygen levels and store carbon in their vast quantities of vegetation. ARTI is focusing on the rich tropical forests of Central and South America. Amphibian and reptiles species are numerous in these forests and face many threats from land conversion and logging.
Working with local partners, we can help protect some of the most biologically diverse habitats on the planet.
