
National Wildlife Refuge land in Texas has now totaled 700,000 acres. These 21 refuges are created for wildlife but also for people. San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge is one of these incredible lands and it features wetlands important for amphibians and reptiles including the red-eared slider turtle.
