Gregory LeCLair

Greg LeClair is a PhD student at the University of Maine where he studies environmental DNA applications for endangered species. Greg has been working in the field of herpetology research since 2014, including on projects such as amphibian disease ecology, sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation, snake and salamander microhabitat studies, and turtle habitat and population studies. Greg also created and manages Maine Big Night, a community science project focused on monitoring and assisting road-crossing amphibians throughout the state of Maine. While Greg's research background is primarily in the northeastern US, he also carries experience with herpetological conservation in the southeastern US as well as international herp issues due to his research in illegal wildlife trade.
